Job description
The Senior Accountant is a fundamental participant in the month-end close process. Duties include working with management to plan and execute the process for the annual audit including preparing, researching GAAP memos and schedules for the annual audit. On a monthly basis, responsibilities will include revenue reporting, commission calculations, journal entries, account reconciliations. Preparing variance analysis and having a deep understanding of the underlying activity associated with each transaction being recorded. Collaboration, curiosity, ability to work independently and be self-motivated are all important characteristics. Prior experience with Net Suite and Advanced Excel skills are required.

Education requirements
BS/MS in Accounting, CPA
Experience requirements
5+ years of experience
Qualifications
•Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities
•Experience with NetSuite required
•Adaptive Planning experience a plus
Responsibilities
•Technical GAAP research and documentation
•Assist in documentation of processes and key policies
•Responsibility for core components of the month end close process
•Account reconciliations including contract assets for policy sales, intangible
assets, goodwill, lease incentive liability, deferred revenue, intercompany
assets and liabilities, and equity
•Journal entry preparation
•Calculate and record monthly policy sales revenue according to the signed
contracts and GAAP guidelines
•Calculate monthly sales commissions for policy sales
•Calculate and record monthly capitalized software development costs
•Maintain employee stock compensation details and record complex equity
transactions
•Deep understanding of underlying transactions
•Assist with preparation of financial statements
•Work on special projects and reporting as assigned
•Collaborate with other members of the accounting team to support
department objectives
•Identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and implement
changes to improve effectiveness and efficiency
Work hours
Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
